how-to-make-lined-curtains

Watch this video series to learn how to make your own curtains. You’ll learn how to make lined curtains, unlined or sheer curtains and how to interline your curtains.

The style of these curtains are simple flat panels. The top of the curtain will be flat and hemmed… no pleats, ruffles or grommets. Plus you’ll also learn a simple style that will look like you have a simple valance at the top of your curtains.

You’ll be shown how to measure, plan, cut and sew your flat panel curtains for ANY size window. There’s even a video to show you how to piece your fabric for wide curtains.

You can then hang these curtains in any way you wish… you can clip on curtain rings… sew on nicer drapery rings… or even insert drapery hooks and hook into drapery rings.

Jennifer! This is great! I’ve been following you on YouTube for a while. You have given me the confidence to know that I can do this. I purchased A TON of fabric today at Jo Ann’s. All of their home decor fabrics are 60% off. So, I’m ready to embark on all the rooms in my house. I just told my husband that I wished that I’d watched this tutorial earlier. I can’t believe the prices that people pay for custom curtains!

Jennifer, I was so apprehensive about making my living room drapes, had the fabric, lining and materials just sitting there waiting to get the confidence to do them. Then i watched your tutorials and hey presto, the light went on.
Thank you soooo much you are the best.

This was an excellent explanation for understanding all the sewing terms in relation to sewing curtains. Nicely done especially for beginners. TY

How do I attach the rope weights in the hem of a flat curtain? I also have corner weights for the side corner edges.

Jennifer, I am a member of your website but confused. I don’t see any updates to website or new projects. I thought that I would be sent new projects monthly.

Also I am making off white sheer linen curtains, no lining, and I do not have a single hole throat plate on my brother cs6000i. I have tried several times to do a blind stitch as I wanted to do this on the sides and hem. Do you have any suggestions. I have also read online to use stitch witchery and I have tried this on scrap piece and it looks good but will it hold. Please advise. Thanks. Kathy
