I always try to share with you “smart” window treatment designs when I see them.
In this bedroom, the designer chose a box pleat window valance over the french doors with functional drawstring curtains flanking each side of the doors.
The window valance does a nice job of framing the door PLUS it hides the hardware track that slides the curtain closed. Smart!
Another very nice decorator touch, is the curtain when drawn open is on the wall… not on the door. This gives the appearance of a much wider window or door than what’s really there. For functionality purposes, the curtain had to clear the doors so that they could open. But you can use this same concept to make windows appear larger.
