Ask Jenny T. - How To Install Large Roman Shade On An Odd Shaped Window

This week I’m challenged with a very odd-shaped window! I love these kinds of questions. If you have a question about a sewing project or DIY project, please send your question to jennytsews@gmail.com and I will answer you through video, the blog or directly.

Hello Jenny,
I have completed roman shades for two windows since I subscribed to your site.  I have lots more to go.  The next one is an odd shape—see the photo.  I would like to make a shade that covers only the bottom portion of the window, providing privacy from below outside, but still letting in light.  I have seen plans for “bottom up, top down” shades, but nothing that addresses how to do a “bottom up” shade without a frame immediately on top of the upper part of the curtain.  The rectangular part below is 69.5” wide x 47.5” high.  Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks, Rita

Hope this helps!
